Run a tape measure wall to wall at floor level along the longest side of the room, then across the other side. Write both down in metres — a 3.2 m × 3.0 m bedroom is 9.6 m². Only measure the rooms you want air conditioning in — skip bathrooms, the laundry and the garage.

No problem — measure the rooms with the different height as their own rows, and pick the height most of the house has. While "It varies" is selected we size the estimate at 2.7 m to be safe, and we true it up at the free site inspection.
Without zoning, every outlet blows whenever the system runs — you pay to cool the whole house even when you're sitting in one room. With zones you condition roughly a third of the floor area at a time.
Estimated at 33c per kWh, six hours a day, 210 days a year. Your actual usage will differ. Sizing uses 155 W per m² with a 0.75 diversity factor on zoned systems, which is how we size every job we quote.
We work out your home's total floor area from your answers, then size the system at 155 watts per square metre — the same rule we use on every job we install. Zoned systems are sized slightly smaller because you never run every room at once. The price range is built from our real supplier pricing for the unit, ductwork and zone controls, plus installation. Your final price is confirmed at the free site inspection.
